Remove Old Mirror

Disconnect the negative battery cable before starting the mirror repair.

Take the inside door trim panel off your Nissan Maxima. Remove all screws and clips that hold it in place around the outside and near the arm rest.

Pry the plastic triangle-shaped mirror cover from the door panel using a cloth covered screw driver. Detach the sail trim panel.

Remove the bolts and nuts that attach the door frame and mirror.

Separate the entire mirror assembly from the door, and completely remove it.
Install New Mirror

Put the new mirror in place. Attach the nuts and bolts in the same order you removed them. Secure them tightly before moving to the next step.

Connect the mirror wire to the Maxima's electrical supply wire coming out of the door panel. Replace the mirror sail trim panel and interior cover.

Put the door trim panel back in place, snap all clips into place and replace all screws.
Tips & Warnings
Warranties in most vehicles, including the Nissan Maxima, are void if you repair any part of the vehicle yourself.
Removing a cold or frozen mirror can cause it to crack and injure you. Make sure the mirror is warm before starting the repair job.
