How to Adjust a Nissan Washer Nozzle

Washer nozzles wet down the windshield.

You're driving down the road in the summer, and suddenly a big bug hits your windshield with a splat. You press the lever to activate the washer nozzles, and they spray everywhere except for where you need them. Then you have to put up with an unsightly mess on your windshield until you can stop at a gas station and wipe it off. Washer nozzles are critical for keeping your windshield clean and clear, but they do need aiming from time to time.
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need
Safety pin or paper clip
Needle nose pliers
1

Examine the washer nozzle assembly closely. They are small plastic bumps on either side of the hood. Usually there are two nozzles per assembly, with two very tiny holes.
2

Bend back a sturdy safety pin or paper clip and insert the end into one of the holes. Grasp the pin or paper clip with your needle nose pliers at the point where it enters the nozzle.
3

Rotate the nozzle gently in the direction you want the nozzle to spray. It may be sticky at first, but don't force it hard or you may break off the pin or paper clip. Pull out the pin or paper clip when done. Repeat for the other nozzle.
4

Test the nozzles by activating the windshield washer fluid from inside the car. If it still needs adjusting, wipe off the hood with a towel and make adjustments. Then do the other washer nozzle assembly.

Tips & Warnings

Do not break the safety pin or paper clip off in the hole, or you may need to get a new nozzle assembly.
