How to Replace the Fuses in a Nissan Altima

Any year of Nissan Altima that you own, from 1993 until now, could blow a fuse. When your lights stop working and it isn't due to the bulbs, or you experience any other electrical outage, it may be a fuse. In just a few minutes and with no tools, you can replace most fuses yourself.

Things You'll Need
Fuse puller

1

Turn off your car before you remove the fuse that's blown. Look for the fuse boxes, located both in your engine compartment and under the dashboard in a Nissan Altima.
2

Open the fuse box and look at the inside cover. This will identify the location of the fuse you need.
3

Use the fuse puller in the middle of the passenger compartment fuse box to remove the fuse. A blown fuse has a burned-out wire.
4

Get a new fuse of the same rating and click it into place. This information will be found on old fuse or listed on the fuse box cover.
5

Close the fuse box cover and try out the new fuse once you have started your Altima.

Tips & Warnings

Most often the passenger compartment fuse box will hold the most common fuses for your Altima--check there first to save time.
