How to Start the Engine on the Nissan Murano

The Nissan Murano can start by pushing a button.

Starting a car is as easy as turning the key in the ignition, but starting the engine of a Nissan Murano may be even easier. Since the Murano does not have a traditional key that is placed into the ignition and then turned to start the car, the technologically advanced Nissan Intelligent Key is used in its place. By simply clicking a button, the Nissan Murano engine can be started instantly.
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
1

Press the unlock button on the Intelligent Key, also referred to as the remote keyless entry system. Push the button once to unlock only the driver side car door or push it twice to unlock all the doors.
2

Enter the car. Sit comfortably in the seat. Make sure your feet reach the pedals adequately without straining or stretching the legs or feet.
3

Start the engine. With the foot pressed gently on the brake pedal, push the ignition switch Start/Stop button located near the lower right side of the steering column. The Start/Stop button is located in a similar position as the key ignition.

Tips & Warnings

The Intelligent Key must be in the car with the driver in order for the engine to be able to start, according to Nissan USA.

When the brake is not depressed, the engine may be started by pushing the Start/Stop button twice.

If the Intelligent Key battery is low, which is signified by a blinking light on the key, it must be inserted into the key port in order to start the engine.
