How to Troubleshoot a Nissan Truck

Nissan trucks can experience problems that may require troubleshooting to resolve.

Nissan trucks refer to a line of pickup trucks manufactured by Nissan Motor Company. Nissan trucks can experience various operational problems that often can be detected and resolved with a little time and some basic troubleshooting techniques.
Engine Won't Start

If the engine in a Nissan truck fails to start, a bad fuel pump relay may be to blame. The fuel pump relay, which manages fuel pump operation during engine startup, can fail due to age or current overload, or it can experience problems that impact vehicle operation negatively. Inspect the relay for signs of damage and replace it as needed.
Rough Idle

A Nissan truck that idles rough can result from vacuum hose leaks or spark plug problems. Inspect the vacuum hoses for signs of wear or tears as well as the spark plugs and plug wires for corrosion or damage, and replace them as needed to restore proper Nissan truck function.
Engine Sputtering

A Nissan truck that sputters, misfires or runs rough can result from a leaking exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) sensor or bad oxygen sensor. Check the EGR sensor for signs of leakage and replace it as needed. The oxygen sensor should be tested with a digital voltmeter based on the Nissan truck manual's specifications to ensure it reaches the proper level of voltage.
