How to Program Keyless Entry for a Nissan Maxima

Like most cars produced since the mid-1990s, the Nissan Maxima offers a keyless entry remote as a common and affordable upgrade. This keyless entry remote allows for remote access to your doors and your trunk and the ability to sound the panic alarm and pre-start the car. Though these remotes can be programmed at a dealership for a small fee, they can also be programmed at home by the owner with no past experience.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
1

Enter your Nissan Maxima and close all of the windows, doors, and the trunk. Insert you key in the ignition.
2

Press the lock button on your car door.
3

Turn your key one click to the right to the "On" position (without turning the car on). Then turn the switch back to the left and repeat this cycle a total of eight times in quick succession. The hazard lights on your Maxima will flash to indicate that the programming sequence has began.
4

Press the lock button on your keyless entry remote and wait 2 to 3 seconds for the car's locks to respond. If the locks do not respond, continue pressing the lock button at short intervals until they do. Once your locks respond, the programming is complete and you can remove the key from the ignition.
