How to Change Headlamp Bulbs on a Nissan Primera

Replacing the Primera headlamp takes only a few minutes.

The Nissan Primera is a family car produced by Nissan for the European and Japanese markets. The North American version of the Primera is known as the Infiniti G20. The Primera headlight is a semi-sealed beam-type light that uses a replaceable 9003-type bulb. Replacing the headlight requires only a socket wrench in order to disconnect the battery. The bulb can be replaced without any tools.

Things You'll Need
Socket wrench
Clean rag
Replacement 9003-type bulb

Turn off the Primera's engine and open the hood.

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery using a socket wrench.

Pull the electrical connector off the rear of the headlamp assembly in the engine compartment.

Pull off the headlight bulb rubber cap.

Push and rotate the retaining pin to access the bulb.

Pull the old bulb out and use a clean rag to install the new bulb. Do not touch the glass of the new bulb or you may risk damaging it.

Reinstall the retaining pin and the headlight bulb rubber cap. Reconnect the electrical connector to the rear of the assembly and reconnect the negative cable to the battery. Close the hood.

Tips & Warnings

Allow some time to pass for the bulbs to cool or you may burn yourself.
