How to Install Nissan Maxima Fog Lights

The fog lights on your Nissan Maxima should be checked every six months to a year to make sure they are working normally. The fog light housing lens seal can fail over time and if this happens, you'll end up with excessive moisture inside the lens. When enough moisture builds up inside the housing, it can cause a critical failure of the fog light. If this happens, you'll need to install a new fog light.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need
Fog light
Assembly (if needed)
Socket wrench
Socket set
1

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Loosen the nut on the negative cable clamp and slide the cable off of the negative battery terminal.
2

Remove the two nuts holding the fog light assembly in place. The nuts are on the backside of the fog light housing.
3

Slide the housing forward and disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the fog light ballast.
4

Slide the fog light assembly all the way out and replace it with a new assembly if needed. Otherwise, push in on the fog light and turn the light counterclockwise to unlock it from the housing.
5

Install the new light. Installation is the reverse of removal.
