How to Remove a 2000 Nissan Altima Window Switch

The window switch can be gently pryed from the door.

Removing the power window switch in a 2000 Nissan Altima will only take a few minutes to complete. The window switch is easily accessible without taking the entire door panel apart. Removing the window switch is essential when having to remove the panel or if troubleshooting on a faulty window motor is necessary. The driver side switch contains all four window switches. The remaining three will contain just the control for one window.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need
Flat tip screwdriver
Phillips head screwdriver
1

Open the door containing the desired window switch. Close the door enough for adequate room to work.
2

Pry the front end of the switch panel gently with a flat tip screwdriver. The switch panel will release from the clips once it is pulled away from the door.
3

Turn the panel upside down to access the switch. Unplug the wiring harness at the end of the switch by pressing in the lock and pulling it out of the switch.
4

Unscrew the four screws with a Phillips head screwdriver. Pull the switch away from the panel.

Tips & Warnings

The switch can be purchased at any local Nissan dealer.
