How to Change the Headlamp on a Nissan Titan

Driving with faulty headlights can lead to a fix-it ticket in most states.

Driving with a faulty headlight is dangerous, not only because of the reduced road visibility for the driver but because oncoming drivers may not be able to see your vehicle as it approaches. A faulty headlight should be replaced as soon as possible. Changing a headlight on a Nissan Titan takes only a few minutes and requires only a replacement bulb and a screwdriver. The Titan uses 9006 bulbs for the low beam lights and 9005 bulbs for the high beams. Both bulbs can be purchased at any auto parts store.

1

Park the Titan on a flat surface. Turn the steering all the way to the right if you are changing the driver's side headlight and all the way to the left if you are changing the passenger's side headlight.
2

Remove the screw in the fender liner under the wheel well. It is situated directly behind the headlight.
3

Pull back the fender line to access the bulbs. Disconnect the wiring plug from the bulb.
4

Rotate the bulb counterclockwise to remove it. Install the new bulb and rotate it clockwise to secure it.
5

Reattach the wiring plug and reinstall the screw in the fender liner.

Tips & Warnings

Never use your bare hands to touch the glass portion of the replacement bulb as this can lead to early failure of the bulb.
