How to Load a Nissan Pickup Truck

According to Nissan's website, their pickup trucks can hold up to 2,000 pounds of cargo and have received high ratings on security features such as built-in (or installed) truck bed liners that keep cargo secure during transport. Even with Nissan's exceptional features, however, knowing how to load items/cargo correctly is very important to avoid accidents. Know how to load and secure your pickup truck the right way by investing in the right tools and equipment for safe transport.
Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
Things You'll Need
Portable ramp
Tarps
Tie-downs
1

Park the Nissan pickup truck on a flat, level surface to make it easier to transfer cargo and prevent sliding. Use a ramp to transfer particularly heavy cargo to reduce personal injury and possible damage to the Nissan's frame and interior.
2

Measure the truck's bed to ensure there is enough space for cargo and to estimate how large the tarp and tie-downs should be. Load the larger items first, placing them towards the back part of the pickup wall for support. Load items thereafter from heaviest to lightest, making sure all items fit on the truck bed, without hanging out, in a tight wall-to-wall fashion (to limit gaps and spacing).
3

Purchase tie-downs, ropes and anchor points to secure cargo. Attach the anchor point, otherwise known as a clamp or mount, to the pickup's bed rail. Attach the tie-downs to the anchor points so that they lay across the items, limiting cargo mobility.
4

Drape a tarp or netting over cargo, securing it with the anchor point, to shield items from the elements. Covering all material in the pickup truck will not only secure items but will keep onlookers from viewing items beneath.
